Lauren came to The Global Mail from Martha’s Vineyard’s uber-broadsheet, The Vineyard Gazette where, as managing editor, she helped to lead the print newsroom to digital — and to its 2010 Newspaper of the Year award. She’s been a writer and editor at The Sydney Morning Herald, worked as Washington editor for Institutional Investor’s specialist newsletters Corporate Financing Week and Wall Street Letter, and has done time in women’s magazines. She has loved using words to expose the truth of things since, as a child, she kept her five older brothers honest by penning a family news sheet, complete with Best-to-Worst Brother rankings. (The Martin boys are grateful there was no social media back then.)
