The new face of homelessness in Australia is probably a grandmother’s. You won’t find her sleeping rough under a bridge but “couch surfing” or sleeping in her car, hidden away. More and more single, older women will become homeless in the next 20 years. This is an extraordinary piece of photo-journalism/essay. It has affected me deeply, and rightly stung me out of the cynicism that clouded the start of my day with far too much bombastic news-focussed radio. Thank you.

I still firmly believe that photojournalism is the most effective form of storytelling, next to documentaries. Excellent piece. Yes, this could be me many years from now. And that's horrifying.
