An indictment on our weak willed politicians (not to mention the cynicism of Ms Gillard to use Wilkie and discard him and his poker machine reform when he was no longer needed) who have become addicted to the revenue stream these things produce regardless of the harm they do.

Alan I agree. Terrible treatment of Wilkie by Gillard. Poker machine reform won't be addressed now. Poker lobby too powerful.

every nation has some monkey(s) on its back: in Australia it's booze and pokies. some nations manage to shake it off (opium in China) and get on with life, others never do, and get their life sapped off.
